Still Lives

Still Lives

I photograph the plants in the city. I like to see how human beings need them, how we use them, and how we share the space in the city with them. We keep them at home, we put them outside, we trim them as the way we think is beautiful, and we abandon them when we don’t need them anymore. Yet they find their own way to survive. They are everywhere; they cross the obstacle; they are wild lives living in the city. We take them for granted, until we lose them. We can’t live comfortably without them, but they don’t need us. They find their way to defy our manipulation.
