Claudia Retegan (1984, Romania) es fotógrafa. Su práctica fotográfica incluye imágenes estáticas y en movimiento. Actualmente reside en Bucarest, Romania. Se graduó en el 2008 de la Universidad de Leeds licenciada con honores en Diseño Gráfico y Comunicaciones. En los años subsiguientes trabajó como directora de arte y diseñadora gráfica en Romania. En el 2012 se mudó a Nueva York para estudiar en el International Center of Photography. Después de vivir y exhibir dos años en Nueva York, hizo una residencia de un año como parte del programa de la Maestría en Bellas Artes del California Institute of the Arts. Sus obras han sido expuestas en Nueva York, Los Ángeles, Bucarest y Ámsterdam.
Claudia Retegan (b. 1984 in Romania) is a photographer her practice includes both time based and still images, she currently is based in Bucharest Romania. She has graduated in 2008 form the The University of Leeds, U.K. with a BA (Hons) in Graphic & Communication Design. The next following years she works as an art director and graphic designer in Romania. In 2012 moves to New York to study at the International Center of Photography. After two years of working and exhibiting in New York she went on to Los Angeles for a one year residency within the MFA program at California Institute of the Arts. She has exhibited work in NYC, Los Angeles, Bucharest and Amsterdam.
Back ‘N Forth [Yendo y viniendo]
Como fotógrafa, me interesa el juego de las miradas—las reflexiones mutuas que se generan entre una representación y el observador. Back ‘N Forth comenzó en el 2012 como una serie fluctuante de fotografías, un juego visual de escondidas. Jugando con temas voyeristas, me interesa la conversación continua entre la consciencia y el inconsciente. Este proyecto se desarrolla en un ámbito entre lo privado, lo escenificado y lo performativo.
Back ‘N Forth
As a photographer I am interested in the the game of looking, in the mirroring between representation and the viewer. Back ‘N’ Forth started in 2012 as a fluctuating series of photographs, a visual game of hide and seek. Playing on themes of voyeurism, I am interested in
the ongoing conversation between consciousness and the unconscious.This work exists somewhere in between the private, the staged and the performative.
